Upper Mokelumne River Watershed Authority
California
The Forest Projects Plan Phase One-B is an implementation project in eastern Amador County. Stewardship West and the Upper Mokelumne River Watershed Authority (UMRWA) are thinning 1,595 acres of Eldorado National Forest using a combination of mechanical mastication and hand-thinning techniques.
This project aligns with the regions “Healthy Watersheds and Forests” goal on the Upper Mokelumne River watershed, benefiting multiple communities in the Sierra Nevada and providing municipal water supply to nearly two million residents within the East Bay Municipal Utility District’s service area.
